1. Introduction

Gopinath PG College observed International Literacy Day on 8 September 2025 with the objective of promoting literacy, educational awareness, and the importance of learning for community development. The program emphasized the global theme of advancing literacy for a more inclusive, knowledgeable, and empowered society.

2. Program Highlights

The event began with an address from the Principal, Dr. Sudha Tripathi, who emphasized that literacy is the foundation of personal empowerment and national progress. She highlighted that education is not limited to reading and writing but extends to developing analytical skills, awareness, and social responsibility.

3. Club Participation

• Rural Education & Outreach Club: Organized discussions on improving literacy in rural areas, shared field visit experiences, and encouraged participation in outreach programs.
• Literary & Expression Club: Facilitated essay writing and speech competitions, motivating students to express ideas on the value of literacy.
• Leadership & Confidence Club: Supported anchoring, public speaking activities, and helped develop confidence among participants.
