Overview

Gopinath PG College, Salamatpur, Uttar Pradesh, is dedicated to maintaining a secure, inclusive, and gender-sensitive environment for all members of its community. As a women’s institution, the college recognizes its special responsibility to ensure that students, faculty, and staff are treated with respect, fairness, and dignity.

In accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace) Regulations, 2015, the college has established a fully functional Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to prevent and address incidents of sexual harassment, discrimination, or gender-based misconduct within the campus. The Committee functions with confidentiality, impartiality, and empathy to protect the rights of every individual and uphold the institution’s commitment to equality and safety.

Objectives of the ICC

  • ✔ Ensure zero tolerance toward any form of sexual harassment or gender-based misconduct.
  • ✔ Provide a safe, confidential, and accessible platform for raising complaints.
  • ✔ Conduct awareness and sensitization programs to promote respectful behaviour and mutual understanding.
  • ✔ Support complainants and witnesses without fear of bias, stigma, or retaliation.
  • ✔ Investigate complaints in an objective, lawful, and time-bound manner.
  • ✔ Promote a campus culture based on dignity, equality, and non-discrimination.

Definition of Sexual Harassment

As per the UGC Regulations and the Vishakha Guidelines, sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to:

  • Unwelcome physical contact or advances.
  • Requests or demands for sexual favors.
  • Sexually colored remarks, jokes, or gestures.
  • Displaying or circulating sexually explicit material, including digital content.
  • Any verbal, physical, or online conduct that creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive environment.

Procedure for Filing a Complaint

  • Online: Submit ICC Complaint Form (Click Here)
  • Email: gopinathpgcollege@gmail.com
  • Offline: Submit a written complaint to the Presiding Officer or Principal’s office in a sealed envelope.

All complaints are treated as strictly confidential. Anonymous submissions are permitted but must include sufficient details for investigation.

Complaint Redressal Process

  1. Complaint Receipt (Online / Offline)
  2. Preliminary Review by ICC Members
  3. Notification to the Respondent and Internal Hearing
  4. Investigation and Evidence Collection (Confidential)
  5. Findings and Recommendations Submitted to the Head of Institution
  6. Action Taken Report Prepared and Communicated

Timeline: The process is completed within 90 days, ensuring both parties are given equal opportunity to be heard.
