World Population Day Programme at Gopinath P.G. College

Gopinath P.G. College observed World Population Day with the objective of spreading awareness on population issues, sustainable development, and responsible social practices. The programme aimed to promote informed citizenship and encourage students to understand the socioeconomic effects of uncontrolled population growth.

The event began with an insightful orientation by Principal Dr. Sudha Tripathi, who emphasized that population management is deeply connected to education, health, resource distribution, and quality of life. She highlighted the importance of family planning and informed decision-making for societal wellbeing.

A student seminar followed, led by BA and MA students who discussed global and national population trends, women’s health priorities, and the significance of demographic awareness for sustainability. They presented issues such as resource scarcity, unemployment, environmental pressure, and the critical role of literacy in population stabilization.

The Health Awareness Club shared insights on reproductive health, maternal awareness, and access to healthcare services. The Research & Educational Development Club enriched the seminar with data charts, comparative statistics, and research findings, strengthening students’ analytical perspectives.
