Learning Objectives
History & Foundations of Physical Education
Study the history of Physical Education, the Olympic Movement, national sports awards, and the philosophical, biological, physiological and sociological foundations of the field.
Human Anatomy & Physiology
Understand the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, excretory and nervous systems as applied to Physical Education and Sports.
Organization & Curriculum Design
Learn the organization, administration and events management of Physical Education programmes, plus the principles of curriculum design.
Coaching, Officiating & Training
Develop scientific principles of coaching, officiating of major games and sports, and the fundamentals of sports training and load management.
Learning Outcomes
Sports Psychology
Apply the meaning, growth & development, learning theories, personality and motivation concepts of Sports Psychology.
Exercise Physiology & Nutrition
Apply exercise physiology, sports nutrition guidelines and weight-management principles for athletic performance.
Health Education & Environmental Studies
Understand health education, communicable disease prevention, public health administration and environmental conservation.
Yoga Education
Practise Yoga philosophy, asanas, pranayama, bandha, mudra and kriya, and apply Yogic Therapy for health.
Test, Measurement & Computer Application
Apply statistics, fitness tests and computer applications to sports measurement and evaluation.
Sports Sociology & Specialization
Analyse sports as a social institution and phenomenon, and apply specialised training, tactics and officiating techniques in a chosen sport.
