In accordance with the UGC (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace) Regulations, 2015, Gopinath PG College, Salamatpur has established an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to prevent and address incidents of sexual harassment, discrimination or gender-based misconduct on campus.
Objectives of the ICC
Toward any form of sexual harassment or gender-based misconduct.
A confidential and accessible platform for raising complaints.
Sensitisation programs to promote respectful behaviour.
Complaints handled in an objective, lawful and time-bound manner.
Promoting a campus culture based on dignity and non-discrimination.
Definition of Sexual Harassment
As per the UGC Regulations and the Vishakha Guidelines, sexual harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Unwelcome physical contact or advances, or requests for sexual favours.
- Sexually coloured remarks, jokes or gestures.
- Displaying or circulating sexually explicit material, including digital content.
- Any verbal, physical or online conduct creating a hostile or offensive environment.

How to File a Complaint
Any student, faculty or staff member can submit a complaint through one of the following channels, all treated as strictly confidential:

Offline
Written complaint to the Presiding Officer or Principal's Office in a sealed envelope.
What Happens Next
Preliminary review by ICC members.
Notification to the respondent and internal hearing.
Investigation and confidential evidence collection.
Findings submitted to the Head of Institution and Action Taken Report communicated.
Timeline: The entire redressal process is completed within 90 days.
