Learning Objectives
Philosophical & Sociological Foundations
Understand the contribution of philosophy and Western and Indian thinkers to education, and the social role of education, culture, modernization and socialization.
Psychological Foundations
Understand concepts of educational psychology, human development, theories of learning, intelligence, creativity and personality.
Research Methodology
Know the meaning and purpose of educational research, research problems and different research methods, along with psychological testing and data interpretation.
Educational Technology & Measurement
Understand educational technology's hardware/software components and instructional design, alongside measurement, evaluation, test reliability, validity and norms.
Learning Outcomes
Indian Philosophy & History of Education
Analyse Indian philosophy of education and prominent Indian educational thinkers, and trace the evolution of education from the ancient to the colonial period.
Statistical & Data Analysis Skills
Apply knowledge of central tendency, variability, correlation and parametric/non-parametric statistics to educational data.
Psychology of Learning
Understand theories of learning, transfer of learning, motivation and creativity, and their educational implications.
Economics of Education
Understand educational expenditure as productive investment, human capital, planned manpower development and financial resource management for education.
Special & Inclusive Education
Understand the concept of special education and inclusion, identification of exceptional children, and intervention programmes for their needs.
Curriculum & Teacher Education
Understand curriculum concepts and models, and the modalities and prevailing trends of teacher education and professionalism in India.
