Learning Objectives
Teacher Educator Preparation
Designed primarily to prepare teacher educators for secondary level teacher education institutions.
Deepen Educational Knowledge
Expand and deepen knowledge and understanding of education through perspective/foundation, technique and skill-based courses.
Research Competencies
Develop research competencies leading to specialization in secondary education.
Practicum & Field Exposure
Internship in teacher education institutions, field engagements, practicum and school experiences with contemporary contexts of education.
Learning Outcomes
Assessment & Evaluation Design
Conceptual understanding of the process of evaluation, measurement and testing, and competencies for designing valid assessment tools.
Curriculum Analysis
Understand the base of curriculum development and its models, and explain the role of regulatory bodies in promoting quality.
Feedback & Interpretation
Interpret outcomes of evaluation tools and provide suitable feedback.
Evaluation Tool Design
Design and interpret evaluation tools and techniques in terms of the concepts and rationale of measurement and evaluation.
Dissertation-Based Research
Independently develop, execute and defend a research dissertation under supervision, culminating in a viva-voce.
Internship & Field Practice
Four weeks of internship in a teacher education institution (classroom teaching, lesson planning, mentoring B.Ed. students) plus four weeks of field engagement in specialised education settings.
